| Scholarship and Discount Programs Our mission is to provide extraordinary camping experiences for youth and to be a valued resource to youth, families, 4-H, schools, groups, and organizations throughout the region. In trying to keep with this mission we work very hard to offer financial assistance to those families that are in need. We offer discounts related to registration dates, the number of children within a family, for 4-H members as well as a few other programs. We also offer a limited number of scholarships to families that can not afford to send their children. Below you will find an explanation of these programs. | Discounts All discounts are in the form of a percentage discount. All discount are to applied to tuition only. Camp store items and additional add-on items can not be paid for with discounts . Once you have registered, discounts can not be applied retroactively. Early Registration Discount Campers registered by February 28, 2010 receive a 17% discount towards camp. Can only be received by a camper once each year. When registering online, this discount will apply automatically if applicable. Registration Discount Campers registered between March 1 and April 15, 2010 of the current year receive a 9% discount towards camp. Can only be received by a camper once each year. When registering online, this discount will apply automatically if applicable. First time camper Discount Campers receive a 9% discount if this is the first time they have attended 4-H Camp Kidwell. Only applies to the first week that the camper attends. When registering online, this discount will apply automatically. Sibling Discount Campers receive a 4% discount when two or more siblings attend camp during the same season. This discount only applies to siblings after the first child has paid full price and can only be applied once each year. When registering online, this discount will apply automatically. Additional Week Discount Campers receive a 17% discount for attending two or more weeks in the same season. This discount does not apply for the first week of camp you attend. Other discounts can not be applied when using the additional week discount. When registering online, this discount will apply automatically. Allegan County 4-H Discount All 4-H members in Allegan County are eligible to receive a 33% discount. Codes needed to apply this discount are distributed through mailings sent directly to 4-H Families. Please look for them in your mail. This discount can not be combined with the state wide 4-H Discount. Membership is verified State Wide 4-H Discount All 4-H members in the State of Michigan are eligible to receive a 17% discount. Codes needed to apply for this discount are distributed through mailings sent to county extension offices. Please ask an extension employee for more details. This discount can not be combined with the Allegan County 4-H Discount. Membership is verified. Various other discounts Available Throughout the year we offer various other discounts. These discounts are applied with specific codes that are given out at events or programs. Please visit us at any of the many expos, programs or sessions we attend and look for these additional discounts. |
We work very hard to offer scholarship assistance to those in need. Our scholarship program is based on financial need and uses the same guidelines as schools use for their free and reduced lunch program. If your family is eligible for free lunch you are eligible for a full scholarship and if you are eligible for reduced lunch you are eligible for a half scholarship. Scholarship funds vary from year to year, and are available on a first come, first serve basis. We accept application on a rolling schedule, which means you can apply for assistance at any time. Please download/print the application for scholarship assistance and send it in. In late spring/early summer we will distribute all funds we have to those who qualify.
