Picture
Are you a little too young to work at camp, but a little to old to attend camp? Do you want to continue to enjoy the fun and excitement that camp has to offer?  We have a program just for you.  When you are part of 4-H Camp Kidwell's C.I.T. Program you get to be part of our amazing staff, gain valuable experience, train to become a super counselor, and most importantly enjoy the fun and excitement of camp.

What do C.I.T.'s do?
C.I.T.s focus is two fold, first and foremost, they gain valuable experience and training to become our counselors of the future.  C.I.T.'s spend time with counselors and other staff members to observe how camp programming works and gain valuable experience.  This job shadowing  program ranges from living in the cabin with the counselor and campers and sharing meals with the cabin group to assisting in activities.  The second and most time consuming part of the program is working in the kitchen helping to prepare, set up, serve and clean up meals.  C.I.T.'s typically work in the kitchen for two meals a day, washing dishes, setting tables, serving food, and cleaning up.  Additionally, C.I.T.'s are occasionally given the opportunity work with camp programs, such as horseback riding or day camp.  When this happens they spend the entire week working with this program.

How do I Become a C.I.T.
If you are interested in becoming a C.I.T., please complete a Staff Application by March 16, 2013.  All potential C.I.T.'s will attend group interviews on March 23, 2013, and final interviews will take place during the week of April 1-5, 2013.  If accepted into the program, perspective C.I.T.s must attend C.I.T. Orientation Week, June 23-28, 2013.  During this week C.I.T.'s will enjoy some time to do regular camp activities as well as receive training/orientation to be able to be the best CIT possible.  The cost for being a CIT is $185.  After completing this orientation program, each C.I.T. will  have the opportunity to volunteer for at least two additional weeks throughout the rest of the summer.
